Can you tell me more about these S48? Never heared about it.Since Raduga uses DirectShow (like WMP) it should also be able to play these files.

That sounds like a file extension from Radio Man Quick Edit. Actually an MPEG 2 file recorded at 48 kHz sample rate. Try changing the extension to mp2 on the file. That has worked for me.
