Wolfgang can correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Raduga was/is a brand of Russian TV sets that were famous for blowing up. If you look at the Raduga logo, it is a little TV with fire blasting out.
Happily, Raduga, the radio automation program, does not exhibit any tendency to self-destruct.
