iuban@intrnet.net

I am in charge of the campus tv station here in Carbondale illinois and I am trying to run video in raduga and have not had much luck. Anyone who has had experience with this please send me some information. I dealy I would like to use Raduga as a video on demand server for our station. It would only be storing music videos, promos, and things like that while there is noone in the station.
Thaks in advance

Re: Video playback

In order to use Raduga as video player, I recommend you to:
- select the Full Screen mode in the Options/Video page
- set overlap to 0 in Options/Overlap
- remove all icons from the desktop
- select black as destop background color

Even then Raduga will probably not be perfectly suited for video. But I plan to improve this in the future. If you have suggestions, send an email to wolo@wolosoft.com.

By the way, if you plan to build a video-on-demand solution, you may want to have a look at the Raduga SDK. It describes how you can remote control Raduga from another program. For example you can dynamically change the playlist.

Re: iuban@intrnet.net

Well, it's been 2 years, but I'm back. I tried the black backdrop etc. and it worked okay. Now, I have a mtrox dual head AGP card and it has a composite video desktop on it. If WMP (Windows Media Player) opens video it automatically blacks out the small video window and plays the video back in full resolution on the composit output. This is cool because the video plays back at full screen and still leaves the raduga program window open on the other screen. This is working pretty well in the testing phase aside from video sync loss between cuts. A digital TBC maintained the timebase, but occasionaly it will freez the last frame and cause a glitch.... Well, I just though I would let you know. Keep up the good work...
