Volume Control

What is the best/easiest way to lower/raise volume in a music file (track 1) when you want to insert a voice, i.e. station I.D. on track 2. It seems I have done this before, but can't remember. There is a line at the top of the wave that you can click on and lower the volume in certain spots in the music, but I do not seem to be doing something!!

Thanks, Atha

Re: Volume Control

Are you using Cooledit or Adobe Audition? Then you must enable volume envelop under View in the multitrack. There is also a button on the top bar labelled "db" I think...
Good luck

Re: Volume Control

I use Cool Edit Pro. Do you have any information on the volume for this program.

Thanks, Atha

Re: Volume Control

Have a look at this screen-shot of my system:-

Notice the 2 red squares in the top-right, the "dB" and "marker" buttons must be enabled. You can then click inside the waveform and create those white marker squares to adjust the waveform.

My example shows putting a small voice track over a music track, ducking the music track during the voice.
