Re: Play an URL

What exactly do you want to do with the URL? Maybe it can be implemented as a script item?

Re: Play an URL

I see where your going with this and I think I like it. So at a certain time you can play audio from a web site.

For example IRN news, uploads there bullyten to their website, Raduga could grab the audio and play it on the hour... interesting

Re: Play an URL

Yes, IRN works great with Raduga. All you do is set it up as an event and enter the URL for the download, in place of the usual title. Assuming you have a reliable Internet connection that is fast enough, it plays first time, every time.

You could also use an FTP site to store audio files, and Raduga will play them in real time from the site, when the scheduler calls for the file. Once again, just enter the URL in place of the event title.

Although I'm not using it that way at the moment, I have used it for our hourly weather reports. Our weather guy lives in another city, and he simply downloads the updates as needed to the FTP site. When it's time for a weather report, Raduga dutifully plays the file. It is that simple. Try it. It opens up a whole lot of new programming posibilities.

I also found a program caled "ReGet Deluxe" that will automatically download a file from the Internet and place it wherever you like on your hard drive. You can then use Raduga to play that file on a schedule.

Re: Play an URL

Hi cor,
thanks for you answer but this is not what i need. I need to play a URL (radio streaming sound) at a specified time. without donwloading any file. I think that adsav found a solution.
If someone else found a please can you tell me how i can do this. rds4u@chello.nl

thanks
