Hello, I was told that Juke does not have 'adware', which spies on your system, gives you ads, changes homepages etc.
Is this true? It doesn't say so on the download page, and this would sure be a big selling point if it does not have adware! All the other players want to 'report in' so to speak and get ads.
Juke does never connect itself to the Internet and does not create any report nor does it display any advertisements on the main screen. There's only one advertisement for WoLoSoft Raduga, which is found on the Help/About page.
Unfortunately this is not a "selling point" for Juke, because Juke is absolutely free and you cannot buy it.
I just downloaded the appliction but my sound isn't working...not because of the app. It hasn't worked since I fdisked my system...for the 3rd or 4th time now ;-) anyways I just was wondering why you took the time to create such a program did you do it for the experience to use as a selling point on a resume' perhaps. Now I have another reason to stop using my computer long enough to find the fault with my sound driver installation or get a pci sound card to add to my already confused cmos configuration. Have a nice day and reply only if you want to.
I wrote Juke back in 1996, because I had a lot of Midi, WAV and MOD files that I wanted to listen while working on the PC. At this time there was no program that could play different file types and handle a large playlist. Therefore I wrote my own program. Since it worked well for me, I decided to make it available for everyone.
