Open new file in tab no another window

Hey, just came accross this program it is great, simple and quick yet all the features i want!

i am now using it as the default editor for all my files, but if i am browser files in windows, not in the explorer bar in the program

if i open up one file then go back and open up another it launches the program again so i have two of them opened!

shouldn't it just load the second file into another tab in the window that is already opened?

be nice if this feature was introduced :)

Re: Open new file in tab no another window

oh another feature that would be great...

is to have the line numbering on by default, or at least have the option to change it

Re: Open new file in tab no another window

1.) You ae right. The "view source" option should not start a new program instance when SuperEdi is already running. In the Explorer context menu you can achieve this by using DDE. But I'm afraid I can't convice IE to use DDE for "view source". Maybe I can find another way to achieve the same effect...

2.) To have line numbers on by default, go to Tools|Options/File Types and check "Line Numbers".

1.) With the first part i meant if i go into my computer start browsing some files open on, then go around open another it will open another copy of the prog...

i think you get what i mean...

2.) thanks didn't see that there :)

Re: Open new file in tab no another window

Thanks that worked great! I found an easier way to to change the file type...

in the file type screen you delete the extension eg: php then go new, add php, then go advanced and from the associated file type select superedi document it then takes all the settings it needs!

thanks for your help, you have been great glad i made the change

Re: Open new file in tab no another window

By the way, SuperEdi 3.5 will always try to open files in another window of a running instance rather than opening a new instance. That means, it also works for "View Source" in Internet Explorer.
