I just installed SuperEdi-4.2.2.x64.exe on Windows 7 64 bit without any problems. Hopefully, you've already found that out :)

Modify recent file list

How can I modify/delete the recent file list?
Would be nice if it could work with context menu: right click on the related item and "remove item from list", for instance.

Thank you for your response

I was able to get all the programs that do not
launch the file from Super Edi's window to open
a file from a batch file like the one below.

cd C:\Program Files\ProgWontLaunch\
cmd /K ProgWontLaunch.exe "C:\test.txt"

I found that by right clicking in the Super Edi
window that the Windows right click context
menu comes up. I have all the programs I
need in that right click context menu so unless
you want me to try something else I will
consider this problem solved.

It looks fine to me. Please verify that you can actually open a file with AngelWriter.exe passing the file name as command line parameter. For example:
c:\>"C:\Program Files\Angel Writer\AngelWriter.exe" "c:\test.txt"

I can launch a tool but the file is not launched in it. I have the Parameter $(FilePath) in the parameter field, so what should I try next?

Below is an example of what does not work.

SuperEdiExt.dll: Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegStr32 failed with exit code 0x3.

Is there a work around?

I think it needs msvcrt100.dll which I believe is part of .NET Framework 4.0, however I do not believe that is supported on Windows 2000.

After uninstalling Superedi 4.2.2U, installation of v4.3U under WinXP (SP3) failed with the message SuperEdiExt.dll: Unable to register the DLL/OCX: RegStr32 failed with exit code 0x3.

I reinstalled 4.2.2U without problems.

It would be very nice if SuperEdi recognised the Ctrl-W shortcut for closing a file. This is almost universal under Windows.

Thank you. Fortunately I am running WinXP.

A feature that some users might find convenient is the ability to 'reload with encoding xxx', or 'display with encoding xxx'. E.g. if you have opened a file from the sidebar, where you don't get to specify the encoding, and SuperEdi doesn't guess it correctly.

You can specify the encoding in the File/Open dialog.

Unfortunately there is a bug in version 4.2.2. Here the encoding selection works on Windows XP, but not on Windows Vista and Windows Vista. This will be fixed soon. Earlier version do not have this problem.

Thanks for your quick reply. I had found the script, but it did not seem to be doing anything. Just now, I discovered that I need to enable View of the Output Toolbar. It works! Excellent!!

To verify an XML document, select the menu item Extras/Scripts/XML/Validate. This will check the structure of the current document and verify it against the DTD or XML schema if present.

If you use this feature regulary, you can also add a shortcut to the script in the Quickstart bar.

I have just found SuperEdi, and downloaded v4.2.2. I like it a lot, thank you for making a great program freely available.

I have a question: how do I use the xml validation feature?

Question, pt.2, does "xml validation" mean the same as checking for proper form/structure?

My company uses Visual SlickEdit, which has a very handy "Check xml document to be well-formed", I'm hoping this function is available.
