Line In + News Bed

Sorry, another one!

How does Raduga play a News Bed, then open the Line In ? I've got it doing the News In and opening the Line Input, but many stations (inc mine) would like a news bed.

At -:15s the News Jingle starts, at -:01 the Line In opens and then fades out the news bed.

Hows does one get around that ?

Re: Line In + News Bed

You can make a mini-playlist, which contains the pre-new jingle, the line-in track and maybe a post-new jingle. Then schedule this mini-playlist at pre-new jingle duration before news time.

Re: Line In + News Bed

Thanks for that - But it doesn't work!

To play a News Bed AND run 63.LIVE would require 2 players.

I made a MiniPlaylist with News In, 63.LIVE and News Out - The News Bed played but the LINE IN didn't open until the Bed had finished.

It's my assumption that the News Jingle must be a short one, ie: NOT A BED.

Re: Line In + News Bed

So you want to play the music and news at the same time? You could try to use a large amout of overlap, for example:
1. newsbed~62.mp3
2. 63.live
Now the line-in event will start 62 seconds before the end of the news bed. Note that the overlap time must not be longer than the duration of the next song.

Re: Line In + News Bed

OK, that sounds reasonable - but wouldn't the LINE IN take control ?

I would assume that the news bed stops because for your suggestion to work, you'd need to switch off FADE ON OVERLAP.

Maybe the .LIVE could also be expanded to include "non player items" like OPEN.LIVE and CLOSE.LIVE. This could then work out of the playlist, and not run in the player.

Re: Line In + News Bed

You are right. My suggestion will only work with a mini-playlist, because "Fade on overlap" is always off within mini-playlists.
