Unicode? How do i use unicode in SuperEdit?

I just downloaded SuperEdit because it claims to be a "Unicode text editor". I have been using UniRed for many years but thought this might have some new features. When i paste some unicode text from UniRed into SuperEdit i get blocks instead of the unicode character. What is Unicode-ish about SuperEdit? How can i get Unicode characters into the contents of a SuperEdit file?

Select a font that supports the characters used in your text (menu Format/Font). For example, "Courier New" contains Cyrillic and Greek characters.
