Re: Raduga On A Notebook Computer
William, I has been my experience from hearing the results of other people that have operated a notebook computer for extended periods of continuous use, just make sure that the notebook is operated with plently of air flow in and around the computer. Due to the smaller size compared to a desk top, the notebooks do not have the ready made ability to push heat out of the case as easily compared to a desktop. Often what happens is the mother board/cpu dies due to heat issues. Not saying that it can't be done with a laptop/notebook computer, just beware of those issues. Myself here with four desktop machines, networked together and running non stop here at my location, I have not seen a hugh rise in electric usage as a result. The real energy hog with desktops is mainly from the older CRT type monitors. If you set the OS to automatically power down the monitors or just simply shut the monitors off if you need to leave the computer running, you'll see the energy consumption drop. The newer flat screen monitors are very easy on electric usage and won't be as much of a pain compared to their dinosaur counter parts.
