Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

It is a problem with the Lame encoder. Don't use Lame, use Fraunhofer or Blade encoders.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

it is a Fraunhofer encoder. I was check with sd diagnostic tool, and everything is like on expl. picture.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

I am speaking of the encoder that was used to create the mp3 files.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Ok Bill. Tell me one please, why the same "bad encoded" files without any problems play in other playing programs wmp, winamp... etc.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

I am not sure. I am not the tecnical writer of Raduga so I don't know the programming. I only know that there is a compatibility issue with Lame at 256kb, based on my own personal experience. Therefore, I don't use or recommend Lame be used for creating mp3's that will be used with Raduga.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Ok. Raduga 3.0 normaly play the same files at 256Kb/s. So problem is in raduga mp3 decompressor
I hawe a suggestion. Raduga is perfect software for radio automat. and it's most important task is to keep playing all files and trying to ignore some mistakes in mp3 (like bad compression, VBR) not to stop on smallest error in mp3. Try to make identical decompressor that using wmp or winamp. Scheduling events and other functions are PERFECT, skin is most proffessinal.
And just one little suggeetion: Jingle buttons 1-9 are not enough. Please put some more (20 for example), and try to make than song level drop for a little (6-8dB) when jingle starts!!!!
(jingle - clear voice without music - we in croatia call it MASK )

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Which version of Raduga and WMP do you use, because if you use WMP 10 I thing that there is some kind of bug with their MP3 Decompressor.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

the same old song with mp3's encoded with Fraunhoffer at 320 kbit CBR. Some files are playing in the playlist on or testingmachine and we hear nothing. After the song (non-heard) played the next song starts normal.
Strange. Think there is a mjor bug in Raduga. The files works fine with OtsDj, drs2006, winamp and Audiocentral from Roxio. Also opened the 'bad or silent" track in audition and soundforge... it works fine... but not with raduga. I think a demo can be limited in time but there may not been some bugs in playback because the nadvantage of an automatisation is that it works fine without the presence of anybody. Raduga 1.2 worked fine for several weeks without one interruption but the other versions are sick in code...

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Whatever. I've tested Raduga and it performs flawlessly. If the Franhofer mp3's are silent in Raduga on your machine then there is something unique to your system causing the problem. Raduga is absolutely fine. My nearly 1000 customers can also attest to this as well.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Yeah right. The thing is that raduga works like a skin or chill on windows mediaplayer. With the automatic updates (servicepack 2 !)turned on your system is installing some newer files and the problems starts because raduga needs the older ones.

Industrial 19" Computer :
Pentium3
1 ghz / 1000 mb ram

soundforge, audition and raduga. Encoder : only Fraunhoffer. On the other machines (P4), more software (videoediting) but the same problem.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

I am using Windows Media Player 10 myself and it works well with all my MP3 files. Please read the FAQ article about encoding MP3 files
http://www.wolosoft.com/en/raduga/faq.html#mp3_enc
I think the "enable CRC check" flag causes the silent playback.

Windows Media Player 10 allows you to rip MP3 files from audio CDs for free! I recommend you to use this method, because these files play perfectly in Raduga. Unfortunately I don't have soundforge myself.

Note that Raduga does not have its own MP3 decoder. It simply uses the DirectShow components that are installed by Windows or Windows Media Player. Therefore any decoding problems are ultimately Microsoft bugs. With Raduga I can only try to find workarounds for these bugs.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Whatever. And how to fix now that problem with "bad" encoded mp3 files? Reencode thousands mp3 files? It must be a simplest way to find a solution. Change direct sound components? Weebie is not the only one. I have a identical expirience.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

Yesterday i was reinstall my XP. Today i was install all nessesary components (directX, drivers...) and also WMP 10. Last i was installed is Raduga 3.8.1
Next i was made two mp3 files by WMP
first file is encoded at 256Kb/s CBR
second file is encoded at 320Kb/s CBR
Raduga still don't play this files.
Wmp normaly play same two files.
Raduga just don't wanna play 256Kb/s CBR or more.
Test machine is:
MB - microstar
Proc. - Barton 2500 (512kb cache)
RAM - kingston 512 DDR
Music card - Audiggy pro (platinum)
What do do next?

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

As I already said:
1. Pay for the software that you using
2. Use the an encoder that works with your player

Just to be sure I set up a new machine with Windows XP service pack 2 and installed the latest patches. Then I ripped 2 CD tracks to MP3 files using WMP 10, one with 256Kb/s, the other one with 320Kb/s. Both files play perfectly with Raduga 3.8.5. They also play fine on another machine where WMP 10 is not installed.

Mr. Vlada,
If you don't want to pay for Raduga, then don't use it.
If your files work fine with another player, use that other player.

If you really plan to buy Raduga and you really want to get your problem solved, please contact me personally <wolo@wolosoft.com>. Otherwise please go away.

Re: MP3 FILES 256KB/S CBR

I don't mean to be a jerk but what is the point in using MP3 if you are going to encode at that high a bitrate, there is little or no detectable difference after 192 (by ear), if you say there is your a liar, so why don't use a more reasonable encoding level and stop crying like a sick dog, I've been using Raduga since version 2.0 and all it get's is better with the new releases

Have a nice day :)

I do not mean to start a flame war here. But the comments above are common sense and to the point. May I also point out that most of the problems associated with encoding "appears" to be associated with XP, possibly SP2, Media Player 10, etc. We have stayed with WIN2K + SP3, and have not experienced any problems, even using Lame at high bitrate. Hope this helps. Regards. christian.
