Other bug

(sorry to send so many messages but I just discovered this very interesting discussion board !)

After a day or two of running Raduga non-stop, songs skip when crossfading. It gets worse and worse as time passes.

I tried on 3 different PCs, all with win 98.

I have to reboot to solve the problem.

Help?

J

Re: Other bug

Raduga has been tested in non-stop operation for more than 10 days by PCs For Music (http://www.pc4music.co.uk/). Unfortunately non-stop operation relies on many other factors beyond the control of Raduga. Most importantly you need a bug-free sound card drivers. But also other applications, such as web browsers may slow down your computer after running a long time.

Re: Other bug

I've been running Raduga for a couple of months on Win 98 with no interuption except when I upgraded to 3.5. So far it has been very stable.

When I just was using the trial version it crashed a few times until I installed a good uninteruptable power supply (UPS). That seemed to solve my problems. A very small power glitch really screws things up.

Re: Other bug

i forgot to mention, I did have a few problems with some corrupted music files. After I replaced them, things have been quite smooth.

Re: Other bug

HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM ON A WINDOWS ME SYSTEM 300 MHZ PENTIUM WITH 128 MEGS OF RAM. DUNNO IF IT'S ME DOING THIS OR NOT. HAVE TO REBOOT ONCE A WEEK, GETS SLOWER AND SLOWER AND SLOWER, THEN IT'S START SKIPPING AND FINALLY LOCKS UP.

I DON'T HAVE THIS PROBLEM ON ANY OTHER PUTERS. I THINK IT'S SOMETHING SPECIFIC WITH WINDOWS ME. I NEED TO UPGRADE THE WINDOWS ON THAT MACHINE AND SEE IF THAT AND SEE IF IT FIXES IT. WOLFGANG SAYS IT'S SOMETHING TO DO WITH RADUGA BEING HIGH PRIORITY AND IT EATS ALL THE CLOCK TICKS.. I WILL BE UPGRADING IT TO HOME EDITION SOON, MAYBE THE PROBLEM WILL GO AWAY THEN.

Re: Other bug

Unfortunately Win ME downwards all suffer from memory leaks, and will require to be rebooted regularly. NT/2000/XP should be fine though.
