Re: SayTime - Time announcements

Have the say time going here...Maybe I am the only community Radio setup made up of people who know all and really know nothing.

Through various means of making MP3's the silence varies from nothing to seconds.. various things cause this but you would see it if cooledit pro was used but my mob too darn lazy.

Well after all that start. my question is how do I widen the gap between the end of the saytime and a start of the next mp3, as there is no gap in my case... Ken.

Re: SayTime - Time announcements

Your're right, the time announcement and the upcoming song start exactly at the same time. For me it sounds really good most of the times - provided the announcemnt files are recorded properly (full volume, no silence).
But if you don't like this behaviour, I can send you another version of the SayTime script, which inserts a pause at the current playlist position to delay the upcoming song.

Hello Wolfgang

Thanks for offer maybe dollars may stop me but that sounds like what we want.

By the way has Christian said anything about programming I have done to get info from the events file & individual sponsor statements of when sponsorships were aired during the month from the log files.

Re: SayTime - Time announcements

I have just recently taken on the position as a radio station co-ordinator for a narrowcast radio station and we can’t go live to air because licensing, I am wanting to know how Saytime actually works, I find I am a tad confused about whether or not it only goes off the time in raduga for example that if I ask it to play the time in a playlist say after every 3 songs will it play the time that raduga/my pc says it is , and in that computer generated voice or do I have to do up recordings for each time of the day???

You have to make up 1440 (actually 770) files one for each minute of the day I have done it here in Dunedoo NSW Australia.. However I found that the way some of our songs were put on not enough run silence I put 1.5 Seconds of silence in a separate file an d make it run immediately afte the time announcement which in actuality it starts at the same time and gives me the acceptable space after the time... Also if I put it in the schedule I put the say Time in and start this silence 1 second later which in fact starats at the same time... I am sorry Nicole you have to do recordings in your local native dialect....

Re: SayTime - Time announcements

So does that mean that when I put saytime into my playlists I don't have to specify an actual timethats in the folder I just add the saytime and it will then go to the folder that holds all of the voice recordings of times and it plays the one that is the time via the pc or Raduga???

So If i do up the voice recordings, how do I go about putting saytime in to my playlists???

I have found no information on Raduga website to help me to figure all of this out can you help me out by letting me know where I go to get this kind of info!!

You put the file saytime containing the coding in your playlist, the coding is manipulated by computer time to look for the hour minute MP3 that corresponds to its calculations... I have doctored up my saytime so that it only looks for the time by us only no defaulting done here I have not seen it not find our time MP3.

my email is kwesterm@bigpond.net.au

I could send you examples of what we do here it works perfectly here. Mainly the time check is put in the schedule to go off three times an hour and more in the breakfast time slot, We have hardly any live presenters so Raduga is George the Auto most of the time ...

Re: SayTime - Time announcements

Do You still have that version of saytime with a facility to place a break so that there is a pause for the time to go out ... Ken
