Announcing SuperEdi 3.1.7 Beta

With this new version SuperEdi will even better intergrate with the Windows user interface. New features include:

- Manual file syntax selection (Menu Format/File Type)
- Windows Exporer-style menu and toolbar with chevrons
- Windows 2000/XP-style file dialogs
- File icons in menus File/Recent Files and Window
- Automatic synchronization of the explorer tree

This beta version requires Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Caution: it is recommended that you disable the installation option "Add to Explorer context menu".

Re: Announcing SuperEdi 3.1.7 Beta

This is an old problem that I've posted before. But it's also in 3.1.7, after a fresh install.

The file type configuration, the 'File Extension' and 'Syntax' settings for JavaScript are not correct. They are incorrectly set to "VBS" and "VBScript".

Thanks, I just fixed the installation procedure, so it will be ok in the next release.

Re: Announcing SuperEdi 3.1.7 Beta

Thank you! So far, 3.1.7 has been working very nicely.

The only other suggestion I have is to configure some default toolbar locations during install. All the toolbars start out compacted in one band. I fear that it's kind of non-inuitive for a beginer type user.

Is there anything in particular you would like to have tested?

Re: Announcing SuperEdi 3.1.7 Beta

You are right, the toobars should be preconfigured with a useful layout. I just don't know yet how to do it.

No, there is nothing special that needs to be tested, just overall stability, usability, spelling and grammar.
