load on Win XP is about 100%

Hi,

when starting SuperEdi 3.3U the load on my system rises to 100%. When opening any menu in SuperEdi the system load gets down to 1-5%. As soon as closing the menu the system load again rises to 100%. I'm using Windows XP Pro SP1 on a Pentium-M 1.6 GHz-CPU.

Any help would be appreciated,

Hm, I have Windows XP too, but the CPU load remains at 0% (PII/400 MHz).

Try to disable the Explorer view and some other toolbars and docking bars. Let me know when you find out what's causing the CPU load.

First I updated to 3.3.1.U without any effect.

Then I deactivated the view of the "Document Tabs". This helped. Don't know why.

By the way, in the German language module is an error in the menu "Ansicht" - a "b" is missing in the entry "Symolleisten".

I suppose it has something to do with the icons in the tab bar. Did you open the files via network connection or via FTP?

Hi,
I have the same problem about CPU load that Sebastian Piecha had reported. I wonder why SuperEdi uses almost 100% of CPU eventhough I just started it and let it sits there without doing anything. Does it try to do something funny in the background?

The only funny thing it does is to update the document icons. But it does this only if the icons need to be redrawn, not in the background.

Maybe you can send me a list of other processes that are running on your system. Maybe SuperEdi is not compatible with any of them?

Basically, I only have Outlook running at the time when I was running SuperEd.
My OS is a typically configured Windows XP Professional. I have not install anything on the machine beside Outlook and Microsoft Office 2000. The load on the CPU is almost 100% even when I minized SuperEdi
